Event Recap: Chase the Moon Challenge

Event Recap: Chase the Moon Challenge

On Monday night, a group of 14 wonderful folks got together to walk/jog/run through Foley Mountain Conservation Area under the light of the full moon. Ragnar’s third annual Chase the Moon challenge was the reason, the 100 Mile Club was the great cause everyone was supporting by participating in the event.

From Tracey Phillips:

As a health advocate anything that promotes activity is good in my books!  Last year I was introduced to Ragnar – in my view, the Crossfit of the running world.  Every year, they use their huge network of runners to come out and support their charity – the 100 Mile Club – a club that partners with schools to promote youth activity.  This is so important today with kids spending most of their time online and escalating youth obesity rates.  So, wanting to add my love of running to this great cause, I chose to promote the event and organize our own Westport chapter.  I fully expected I’d be running alone but no, 14 equally passionate runners, walkers and activity junkies joined me.  It was so fun!  Everyone dressed in neon, glowing, and reflective running wear and had a great time walking under the full moon through the Foley Mountain Conservation area.  A big thank you to everyone who came out as well as to Rebecca Whitman for allowing us to use the park after hours.  We will definitely do it again so come out with us next time and do some good for our youth!
