Event Recap: Theatre in the Park

Lockwood Park was beaming with local talent yesterday as the Westport Arts Council held their Theatre in the Park event. Close to one hundred (maybe more? I suck at estimating numbers) eager patrons took in “snippets” of three different performances all happening in the area over the next few weeks.

BarnDoor Productions from Perth performed three scenes from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth; The Perth Studio Theatre performed a few scenes from Jules Tasca’s Salt-Water Moon; and last but certainly not least was the Smith Falls Community Theatre performing a selection of songs from David French’s Narnia.

Yesterday’s event was just a preview. If you are interested in seeing the full performances (and you should be!), information on location and showtimes are available on the respective companies’ websites.

A big thanks to everyone involved in making this afternoon a huge success. Long live performance art in Westport!
