Event Recap: The Steadies Live at the Cove

Event Recap: The Steadies Live at the Cove

To kick off MUSICwestport, The Steadies ripped through two sets at the Cove this past Friday. Organized as a fundraiser for the Westport Arts Council and the MUSICwestport event itself, dinner, dancing and an evening with friends was a bargain at $60.

The Steadies, a band gaining some serious momentum and popularity actually has a strong pedigree. Earl Pereira was a member of the popular Canadian rock group Wide Mouth Mason who if you recall, won a bunch of Junos and other accolades during their run as a band.

The Steadies‘ sound is self-dubbed as “Island Rock” and their live performance is a mix of original music (Earl said we can expect a new album this fall YAY!) and classics reinterpreted. Their parties are serious dance-fests and I can’t believe how chipper everyone was at MUSICwestport the next day, given how hard they partied the night before.

It’s amazing how live music can raise everyone’s spirits.

Enjoy the photos and video clips below.

The Westport Arts Council serenaded the crowd with a tribute to the Cove and the Westport Village IDA: two proud sponsors of MUSICwestport.

Then the Steadies hit the stage!
