The Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop Weekend 01 – Day 01

The Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop Weekend 01 – Day 01

The Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop is a local event bringing crafters, artisans, bakers, shops, businesses and the community together during the holiday season. The event is chock full of amazing activities that this year it’s happening over the course of TWO weekends.

I thought I was going to be able to make one blog post for the entire weekend but there are just too many photos to include in one post. Watch out for Day 2’s post coming real soon.

Friday November 25th was the first day/night of this year’s Shop N Hop. There was an outdoor market hosted by the Westport Arts Council; an Ugly Sweater competition which many businesses participated in; a Ginger Bread House decorating competition; the annual tree lighting at the village town hall; and Jeff Callery wrapped up the evening with his performance at The Cove Inn. There were also lots of shopping deals to be had, with businesses staying open late to help patrons with their Christmas shopping.

All in all, a great way to kick off two weekends of fun in Westport. Enjoy the photos below, starting with a gallery from the WAC Christmas Market:

Then there was also the Ugly Sweater competition, here are a few photos from that:

Thank you to the group from Westport in Bloom for judging and to Cynthia Pringle from Jake by the Lake-Life is Good for the photo of my Ugly Sweater!

The Gingerbread House competition saw many submissions this year and some amazing artists putting forth their talents:

Many shops had deals, specials and sales on, and Seasons of Westport was offering free Christmas present wrapping with every purchase. We ended the night with the Christmas tree lighting at carols at Town Hall, and Jeff Callery at The Cove Inn.

Well done Westport.
