The Westport Film Society and What’s on Westport are proud to present the first ever (virtual) viewing party. Join us on Tuesday May 19th at 8:30pm for “Cheap Movie Night.” We’ll utilize the Netflix Party plugin for Google Chrome browsers and Zoom Video Calling to get together, watch a classic movie and have some fun. The event will start at 8:30pm with a quick Zoom preamble by Westport’s self proclaimed (but highly recognized) film nerd, Mr. Paul Millar. By 8:45pm, we will switch over to Netflix and watch Groundhog Day, the 1993 classic staring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Have a watch of the trailer below:
Requirements to join the party:
- A computer (desktop or laptop will do)
- The Google Chrome web browser
- Your own (or access to) a Netflix login
- The Netflix Party extension/plug-in
- An open mind

We’ll add you to the list of participants and send you some instructions on how to get prepared for the movie showing. The night of, we’ll email you a Zoom call link and a Netflix Party link so you can join in on the fun.
If this sounds tricky, or out of your technological expertise, we’re here for you. We’ll start the Zoom call at 8pm for those that need help setting up their systems to watch the movie.
