Westport Village Pharmacy

Established in the early 1960s, Westport Village Pharmacy has long been the health hub of the community of Westport. Having taken the helm in 2014, it became my pleasure to be its full time pharmacist and owner. I’ve been a pharmacist for nearly 30 years having graduated from the University of Toronto with my Pharmacy degree in 1990 and received an Executive Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the Rotman School of Management (also U of T) in 2007. For the previous 12 years, I had held various Directors roles as well as the position of Vice President of Pharmacy for Rexall/PharmaPlus. Patient care is my passion. My roles within Rexall focused on getting pharmacists to utilize their full scope of practice to enhance the care they provide every day to the members of their community. As such, I am also actively involved in Ontario’s pharmacy profession as a Council Member and Past President of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, the regulatory body of pharmacists of Ontario who advocate on behalf of patients.

In 2014 I was ready to retire from the world of corporate pharmacy and focus more on the needs of my family. My son had special needs that were becoming increasingly difficult to manage while holding an executive position. Then the opportunity presented itself to come to Westport. Why Westport? My grandfather was born in Westport before eventually settling in Cornwall where I was born and raised. I own property on Wolfe Lake and had spent every weekend here from April to November. It was an exciting transition to now be able to spend more time in this wonderful community and be able to positively contribute to its success and overall health. Since making the move, I have enjoyed a wonderful collaborative relationship with the doctors and health clinics of the area and continue to bring additional services to our clientele. Patient care continues to be my passion and as such, we offer a wide range of vaccination services, a weight management program, travel clinic, compression hosiery, minor ailment prescribing and of course Tick prophylaxis!

In our drive to meet the expanding needs of our community, in 2017 we added the Service Ontario kiosk filling the gap left by the passing of its previous service provider. In 2018 we expanded our store footprint to nearly double its size to accommodate the growing need for prescriptions and Home Health Care/Aids for daily living.

With both customer and staff input, we continuously make changes in the pharmacy to help better meet your needs.

So please drop in often to say hello, see what’s new in store and let us know if there is any way we can be of greater assistance to you or your family!

Located in the heart of Westport’s shopping district, at the corner of Church Street and Bedford Street, the pharmacy is open 7 days a week, 9am – 6pm weekdays and Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm.
