Paul Thorp was first introduced to the beauty of wood working as a young boy by his grandfather. Learning to take a rough piece of wood and turn it into some beautiful has always been a passion of his that continues to bring him satisfaction and incredible joy.

Westport Wood was established in 2019. Throughout the year Paul attends various craft shows and sales. He is one of the weekly vendors at the Westport Market that is held on Saturdays from May to Labour Day Weekend.

Paul’s handcrafted wooden boards combine old world techniques with modern colour epoxy resin. His river boards produce a Zen like feeling with the natural beauty of the wood grain being accentuated by the striking colours of the resin. He also offers custom made products using wood from around the world and custom laser burning technology. These one of a kind boards make a wonderful gift or conversation piece for any home.
