Young Petty Stones at the Cove

Seamus Cowan, manager of The Cove Country Inn has an amazing talent for music. His history with music is storied (you should definitely ask him about it sometime), but he has found his niche at his family owned and operated business here in Westport, curating live music events and supporting local artists through the pandemic.

It hasn’t been an easy year for live music. Many venues have either been shut completely, or have struggled to find a safe alternative given all the COVID-19 restrictions. It took a couple of months, but the Cove really found their legs about half way through the summer, with a couple of options for dinner and a show: the outdoor patio or the larger outdoor lakeside stage. The latter offered Seamus’ band, the Young Petty Stones, the opportunity to get out and play for a live audience again.

It couldn’t have been a better summer night for this event.

I was asked to do my photo and video thing, which I happily obliged. A big thank you to Seamus, Jason, Eric and Rob for the opportunity.

Below is a video of the Young Petty Stones performing their version of Tom Petty’s “You Wreck Me”

This blog post wouldn’t be complete without a few photos of the night. Here is a good example of what you missed:

There are still some great shows to see in Westport. Please check out our event’s calendar for the latest.
