The maple syrup was flowing at Blair Brothers Maples this afternoon for the kick off of Maple Weekend. Stacy, Scott and family had activities, demonstrations and treats on their homestead, inviting one and all to experience everything maple. Despite the snow disappearing last week, they had fresh maple taffy to roll and enjoy. Olive had informative (and cheeky) signposts laid on on their maple trail. Henry demonstrated his techniques for tapping a maple tree. Scott proudly showed off his system for boiling, filtering and bottling syrup. And of course, Stacy had all the baked treats. From maple butter buckets, to croissants, cookies and pies, everything was baked with love…and maple!
