Chilifest 2023

The Rideau Vista Chilifest, which happened at the Royal Canadian Legion Upper Rideau Branch 542 this past Saturday brought together various chili connoisseurs to help fundraise for the school’s end-of-year field trips. There were multiple chili recipes to sample, a silent auction, a people’s choice vote for the best chili, and just a wonderful reason to get out in Westport on a Saturday. Well done to all involved in the organization, preparation and “production” of all the yummy food. Here are a few photos we took while at the event:

Spring Market and Outdoor Show

The Westport Market is officially back for 2023! This past Saturday, they hosted their 2nd annual Spring Market and Outdoor Show at the WTC Communications Centre (Westport Arena) where they gathered over 60 vendors and hundreds of visitors. There were artisans, crafters, bakers, service providers and vendors of every type. There was literally something for everyone. With the temperatures cooperating, it was a beautiful day to be out and about in Westport. The Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop Weekend 02 – Day 04

Saturday was the last day of the Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop. There were 2 Christmas Markets, plenty of shopping at the local businesses, pet photos with Santa at Wags Whiskers and Wings, another wreath-making workshop at Watercolour Westport, and live music at the Westport Brewing Company and The Cove Inn. With the rains moving in throughout the day, there was concern it would slow people from visiting but there was a steady flow of patrons through the markets and both live performances. The Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop Weekend 02 – Day 03

Friday was the start of the second weekend of festivities in Westport for the Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop. Business owners and operators wore their PJ’s to work; lots of sales going on at the local businesses to help with your shopping needs; Steve Kennedy wandered the village playing Christmas Carols; free horse-drawn carriage rides were available throughout the village, and Santa even made an appearance at The Victorian Suites. Last Saturday saw the second day of the Westport Holiday Shop ‘N Hop in downtown Westport. If you were in the village, you know it was hopping. The Westport Market: Summer 2022

Have you been to the Westport Market? Every Saturday from 9am – 2pm, local artisans, farmers, bakers and craftspeople gather to display and sell their latest creations. With over 35 vendors this past Saturday, it was a great time to get out and document the event. The sun was shining, the temperature just right. A perfect day to see some smiling faces. Below are some images I took of the event. As you can see, there is pretty much something for everyone. The Westport Market runs every Saturday until Labour Day weekend.
