Friends of Westport Library and Friends of the Library (Rideau Lakes) invite you to an afternoon of readings and discussion with two accomplished authors. Join in on Sunday June 4th at 2pm at Shillington Park – North Crosby.

Patti Shales Lefkos is an author and humanitarian whose work has taken her from the remote islands of the Canadian Shield to the mountain of Nepal . Her debut book, NEPAL ONE DAY AT A TIME, is a gripping travel memoir that combines adventure and philanthropy. It chronicles her journey of volunteering in a small Himalayan village school and trekking solo through the remote Upper Mustang at the age of 67. The book also inspired her non-profit of the same name, which raised funds to build a school in Nepal after the devastating 2015 earthquake. Her second book, GROUNDED BY GRANITE, is a heartwarming coming-of-age tale that centers around her summers spent on a remote island in the Canadian Shield.

Brian R. Lindsay has recently retired after ten years of operating a personal chef service. He spent numerous years in food service, as a food and beverage manager and a kitchen manager. Before that he was, for a few years, in retail security. He has now turned his focus to writing crime, with an epicurean garnish. The Gilmore House Mysteries are set in eastern Ontario and are crime fiction with recipes. Brian’s first book, Old Bones – A Gilmore House Mystery, was short-listed as a finalist for the 2016 ARTHUR ELLIS AWARD for Best First (Crime) Novel.
