Fall Colours & Stormy Weather

Fall Colours & Stormy Weather

It can’t all be blue skies and smooth sailing. That’s what you have to keep telling yourself when you are out and about in October in South Eastern Ontario. What the weather forecast was predicting yesterday was sunny and 13 degrees and what actually happened on the Upper Rideau was another thing altogether.

My wife, son and my son’s friend and I took a tour of the lake to see the fall colours yesterday. We try to do this every year but planning the trip can sometimes be hit or miss in mid-October. Of course you have to expect a chilly day, but if you bring a blanket and a travel mug of hot chocolate, you can be quite comfortable out on the waterways this time of year. Tourist season doesn’t need to end Thanksgiving weekend in Westport.

Our sunny and 13 degrees never really formulated yesterday and that’s ok. It can’t all be blue skies and smooth sailing….but that’s the way we like it.

A big thanks to Norris’s Live Bait & Tackle for the boat rental.
