Escape the ordinary this Earth Day weekend! Immerse yourself in a rare adventure at the Brenda Carter Nature Reserve. Tucked away in the forests south-west of Ottawa, north-east of Smiths Falls, this hidden gem, typically reserved for conservation work, opens its gates to the public for a limited time.
We’re on a mission to tackle the invasive Buckthorn, a non-native plant that is strangling the delicate but important balance of this diverse landscape. Your hands-on efforts will restore the ecosystem, allowing native species to thrive – species that support other wildlife in this environment.
This is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and be part of something extraordinary this Earth Day.
TO REGISTER: Spaces are limited for this exclusive event. To secure your spot and for more details, reach out to us at info@rwlt.org or register online at rwlt.org/events
Between 9:45 and 10am everyone meets at the corner of Flood Road and Dwyer Hill Road, and then we move as a team over to the site. Your registration is important so that we don’t head into the forest without you. Please be on time.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of something truly special – help the Rideau Waterway Land Trust environmental team turn the tide against Buckthorn and celebrate Earth Day with a lasting legacy!
Our popular hiking trail at Rock Dunder Nature Reserve, renowned for its pristine landscapes and beautiful views, is notopen until May 15. So there are no Earth Day events planned at that location. SO – join us at Brenda Carter Nature Reserve!
